Parish Pastoral Council
The Pastoral Council is composed of parishioners who are actively involved in some aspect of evangelization, catechesis, or some other form of pastoral care of people in our parish - ranging from children, youth, young adults, adults, to seniors. Their primary objective is to counsel Msgr. Holmes and the parish leadership on how to best live out the mission of the parish - inviting all people of our parish to know, love, and serve Jesus Christ more deeply! If you are interested to see the discussions of the Pastoral Council please take a look at the meeting minutes located on the left-hand column of this page.
I have been a member of the parish since 1995. I am currently involved with the parent catechism classes and also in the weekly Spanish prayer group. I sing the Psalms at Mass and will be glad to help with whatever the parish needs.
I have been a member of the Cathedral Parish for six years and am a Eucharistic Minister for our parishioners at Capitol Lakes Assisted Living and Nursing home which is about 5 blocks from Holy Redeemer. I am also an Adorer in the chapel of Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration Chapel. I have participated in many Bible Studies at Blessed Sacrament Parish that have helped me grow in my faith and also volunteer weekly at River Food Pantry on Madison's North side. I retired from addiction consultation service at Meriter Hospital 2 years ago and my husband Ron and I, like so many grandparents, care for our three-year-old granddaughter two days a week while her parents work.
I have been a member of the Cathedral Parish for about 4 or 5 years, and first became more involved in the Parish by attending the Tuesday night Main Event Catechism sessions. I joined the SVdP Conference and am the treasurer and help coordinate the men's shelter meal we do every other month. I usher at the 11:00 mass and help at the welcome table after mass. I have been assisting the Parish in the reuse and redevelopment of the former Holy Redeemer School into Lumen House apartments for students at St. Paul University Catholic Center. I have participated in small groups for the Year of Faith, and also to read and discuss the book Forming Intentional Disciples, and took the Called and Gifted Workshop. I want to assist with adult faith formation and youth ministry too.
I am originally from Mexico and came to the USA 26 years ago. I have two children, Jorge Antonio and Monica, who was baptized at Holy Redeemer. I am blessed to be part of this community and am very happy to work with some of the parents. At this time we are studying an introduction to the Bible. This group gets together on Sundays from 9 – 10:30 at St. Patrick church. I pray that God blesses our families through this study.
I have been a member of the Cathedral Parish since coming into the Catholic Church through RCIA in 2010. RCIA was an amazing and beautiful time of growth for me and I have continued to be involved with RCIA as a member of the RCIA Team since then. From time to time I help with Catholicism 101 and I am leading the Praying with the Scriptures Bible Study. I am a Lector at Mass on Wednesday afternoons. I have also been involved with the Neighborhood Groups, both for the Year of Faith and for Forming Intentional Disciples.

I have been a member of this Parish for 14 years. I am blessed to be part of this community that has been part of my growth in faith. I am a liturgical volunteer as a lector on Sunday Mass. Since 3 years ago, I have also enjoyed being a volunteer in First Communion catechism classes. Currently I am involved with Marriage preparation classes. It has been a privilege and wonderful experience to be able to help others.
