Parish Vocations

For some years, the Cathedral Parish has been a place where Christ's call to follow Him has been heard and accepted.

Bishop Paul Swain (Diocese of Sioux Falls, ordained from St. Raphael in 1988) and Msgr. James Bartylla (Vicar General of the Diocese of Madison, ordained from Holy Redeemer in 2001) are prominent priest-sons of our parish. Fr. Gabriel Lopez (2015) and Fr. Scott Jablonski (2014) are the most recently ordained priests from the Cathedral Parish.

The Diocese of Madison begins the 2017-18 academic year with over 20 men in seminary formation.  We are very pleased to say that three of these seminarians claim the Cathedral Parish as his home -- two having belonged to the parish as young adults living in Madison before entering the seminary, and one having grown up in the parish.

Sr. Joanna (formerly Mary) McCormack, O.P., was a faithful member of the Cathedral Parish while working as an attorney in Madison.  She is now in her fifth year of simple vows with the Congregation of St. Cecilia (the Nashville Dominicans).
