Parish Vocations

For some years, the Cathedral Parish has been a place where Christ's call to follow Him has been heard and accepted.

Bishop Paul Swain (Diocese of Sioux Falls, ordained from St. Raphael in 1988) and Msgr. James Bartylla (Vicar General of the Diocese of Madison, ordained from Holy Redeemer in 2001) are prominent priest-sons of our parish. Fr. Scott Jablonski (2014) and Fr. Stephen Petrica (2013) are the most recently ordained priests from the Cathedral Parish.

The Diocese of Madison begins the 2014-15 academic year with over 30 men in seminary formation.  We are very pleased to say that seven of these seminarians claim the Cathedral Parish as his home.  Some of these men were associated with the Cathedral Parish at the time they entered the seminary; others were assigned to our parish when they entered the seminary for the Diocese of Madison while living outside the diocese.

Sr. Joanna (formerly Mary) McCormack, O.P., was a faithful member of the Cathedral Parish while working as an attorney in Madison.  She is now in simple vows with the Congregation of St. Cecilia (the Nashville Dominicans).
