All Catholics share in the mission that the Lord gave to the Church---to proclaim the Gospel and to make Him present in the world. We do this in many ways. All members of the Cathedral Parish are asked to consider what they can do personally to participate in the mission of the Church---through activities in our parish and beyond. All parishioners are also asked to support the parish financially, since such support is necessary if the work of the parish is to continue to grow.
Our goal at the Cathedral Parish is to express in our parish life a strong sense of mission, the awareness that we have been given a job to do---to make the Lord known and to make Him present in our place and time. Our hope is that all the members of the Cathedral Parish will see their participation in parish life and their financial contributions as ways of helping to fulfill this mission.
Contribution Envelopes:
The classic means that Catholics in the United States have used to support the Church is the contribution envelope. Envelopes pre-printed with each parishioner’s name are mailed bi-monthly to registered households. There is an envelope for each Sunday and holy day of obligation during those two months, along with envelopes for special collections authorized by the bishop. The envelopes containing check or cash are normally put into the collection at Sunday Mass, but may also be brought or mailed to the parish office. If you are not receiving envelopes and would like to get them, please contact the Cathedral Parish office at the address below.
Online Giving:
Parishioners can also choose to make their regular contributions to the parish through electronic funds transfers (EFT). Click here for a complete description of this option.
Statement of Contributions:
All contributions received in a parish envelope, by loose check put into the collection, or through EFT are ascribed to the donor. After the end of the calendar year, all parishioners receive a statement of their contributions, primarily for income tax purposes. Single gifts in excess of $250 are acknowledged individually, in accord with IRS regulations.
