ST. VINCENT DE PAUL
Our parish is committed to the works of charity done under the auspices of the St. Vincent de Paul Society. This international organization is made up of lay Catholic men and women who are committed to live and grow in their Christian faith through prayer and personal involvement in charitable works. The Madison District Council of the Society is a very effective organization. It operates the largest food pantry in Dane County, houses for men, women, and children, and five thrift stores whose proceeds support direct assistance for the poor of our city. Members of the Cathedral Parish cooperate with the larger efforts of our District Council as well as helping those in need here in our own neighborhood. Quarterly envelopes give all parishioners a chance to support these good works. Click here for more information!
HOMEBOUND MINISTRY
The parish cares for members who are unable to join us for worship, in particular the elderly and sick. Communion visits are made on the first Friday of each month as well as regular visits to those who are homebound or in the hospital.
WAGING PEACE THROUGH FORGIVENESS SOCIETY
Beginning in 2009, parishioners will be offered the chance to assist children and young people in our area to develop the virtue of forgiveness. A 2009 Lenten Series on forgiveness will be offered as a first introduction to this new initiative.
