Theology on Tap - "Just By Chance? Evolution as a Case Study of Faith & Reason"
Emily Hilts graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in May 2014 with a BS in Wildlife Ecology and a certificate in Environmental Studies. Growing up on a farm in Marathon, WI fostered her love for the outdoors and a deep passion for biology. As a teenager, Emily struggled to reconcile an intellectual life with a belief in God but returned to Catholicism in college. She authored undergraduate research on invasive lake species while remaining active in the St. Paul’s community, later working as an intern. She co-founded Vita Pura, a student group that discusses the relationship between God, communities and the natural world. She now teaches science and mathematics at St. Ambrose Academy.
What is Theology on Tap?
Theology on Tap is a monthly event, generally the fourth Thursday of the month, where 20s&30s are invited to join us for free beer and engaging talks by some of the leading thinkers, speakers, educators, innovators, and activists in the nation as they share their insights on various contemporary issues facing young adults today.
