Theology on Tap
The Crusades tend to have a negative reputation for most modern people, but what if we don’t really know the whole story? Fr. Mark will discuss what actions and events preceded the Crusades, what were the motives for them, what actually happened during them, and what the aftermath of the crusades was, all in the hopes of having a better understanding of the big picture of an often misunderstood historical event.
Fr. Mark Miller grew up in Blanchardville, WI and attended UW-Madison, studying Material Science Engineering and Religious Studies. A convert from the Lutheran faith, he came into the Catholic Church two years after graduating and subsequently entered the seminary two years later. While in seminary he lived in Denver for three years and Rome for five years, during which he also did advanced studies in ecumenism and inter-religious dialogue. He loves back country camping and shooting pool.
What is Theology on Tap?
Theology on Tap is a monthly event, generally the fourth Thursday of the month, where 20s&30s are invited to join us for free beer and engaging talks by some of the leading thinkers, speakers, educators, innovators, and activists in the nation as they share their insights on various contemporary issues facing young adults today.
