We love the Church, but it can be difficult to profess allegiance to an institution so mired in crimes of abuse and cover-ups. Why do I stay, or why do I want to walk away? Is there any way for me to help my church as a lay person?

Parish member Katie Cummings will lead the discussion around young adults' current experience of the Catholic Church and guest panelists will contribute their own perspective on how to deal with our reality while also finding reasons to hope. Justin Bangert, MS, LMFT will be speaking from a psychological/mental health perspective. Father Randy Timmerman will speak from a pastoral/theological perspective. Stephanie Stokman will speak from her perspective as a mother of four young children and a member of a lay movement.

What is Theology on Tap?

Theology on Tap is a monthly event, generally the fourth Thursday of the month, where 20s&30s are invited to join us for free beer and engaging talks by some of the leading thinkers, speakers, educators, innovators, and activists in the nation as they share their insights on various contemporary issues facing young adults today.
